Lingard reserved praise for one Manchester United player after Derby victory

Manchester United started pre-season on a bright note with a win over Derby County, and youngster Shola Shoretire gave an impactful performance on Sunday as United beat Derby 2-1.

Shoretire’s defence splitting pass picked out Facundo Pellistri’s run for United’s second goal, and the Uruguayan made no mistake as he rounded the goalkeeper and put the ball into the net.

The 17-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, and became United’s seventh youngest player of all time last season when he made his debut.

After the game against Derby, Shola took to social media to reveal how happy he was to be back on the pitch. He was then hailed by United star Jesse Lingard for his assist and other U-23 players took to his post on social media to sing his praises as well.

Shola will be aiming for another opportunity in the game against QPR.
