Manchester United aren’t only planning for the now, but the Old Trafford outfit is also getting the future in top gear.
Manchester United have now confirmed the signing of highly rated Liverpool youngster Ethan Ennis.
The 16-year-old broke into the U18s setup at Kirkby last season and scored three goals across their run to the FA Youth Cup final.
However, he rejected the offer of a scholarship at Liverpool this summer and was rather keen to join Manchester United.
Ennis is a highly rated midfielder with a huge prospect, and he was also sought after by Chelsea. But it was United who won the race to sign him.
Manchester United will now only pay a compensation fee to Liverpool for their young talent.
The young teenager is delighted to have signed up for Manchester United.
“I am delighted to announce that I have signed for Manchester United,” Ennis wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of himself posing with the United shirt at Old Trafford.
“Grateful for this opportunity, can’t wait to get started.”
