Raphael Varane’s move to Manchester United is as good as a done deal, as United have reached agreement with Real Madrid for the signing of the France international.
Varane comes with loads of experience on his belt, and his trophy haul will definitely be the richest in the Manchester United dressing room, with a World Cup medal, four Champions League medals and also three La Liga titles to his belt.
It is believed that Manchester United signed Varane to replace Victor Lindelof, with the Frenchman expected to form a formidable partnership beside Harry Maguire.
However, the Athletic has claimed that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with Lindelof’s performances and believes that the trio of Maguire, Varane and Lindelof can play together in a back three next season.
Solskjaer has used the 3 at the back system for United at times, but it’s believed that it would be the team’s dominant formation next season.
The report by the Athletic claims that Solskjaer values Lindelof’s passing ability and he’s expected to be the ball playing defender among the trio.
