Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named young forward Mason Greenwood as his striker for the game against Leeds United.
Solskjaer opted for the young Greenwood to start the game while the more experienced Anthony Martial was left on the bench.
Martial has not played a competitive game for Manchester United since March, and Solskjaer revealed before the game that he didn’t want to risk the Frenchman.
“Anthony is working on his fitness, he’s been injured for five months,” Solskjaer told BT Sport when asked why he opted for Greenwood over Martial.
“He’s been training well, he looks like he really wants to get back in, but he’s only played 45 minutes since March. So it’s not fair on him to start the first game today.”
