Van de Beek told he’s wasting away under Solskjaer

Donny van de Beek has struggled for game time since signing for Manchester United.

The 24-year-old was one of the best players in the Ajax team during his time at the club, but his stock has dropped since his move to Old Trafford.

It was expected that Van de Beek would have an increased role this season, but he was again dropped to the bench for Manchester United’s season opener against Leeds United.

Former Ajax and Netherlands midfielder Marciano Vink has told Van de Beek to leave the club, insisting that he’s wasting away at Manchester United.

Speaking to Voetbal Zone, former Ajax and Netherlands midfielder Marciano Vink said: “Donny van de Beek is wasting away at Manchester United. Of course he has one of the best, currently number 10s in Europe as a competitor.

“Bruno Fernandes is fantastic. If you see what he did against Leeds United last weekend [scoring a hat-trick]… I think you get really small on the bench, you want to go home and kick in all the doors there.

“The balls he got were then just behind him, or not played well, and then you don’t get into your rhythm. It got worse by the week.”
