Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed after the game against Southampton that he was left unimpressed with certain aspects of his side’s performance against the Saints.

United left St Mary’s Stadium with just a point, and Solskjaer admits he was left unimpressed with the way the team started the game and also the reaction to the goal conceded in the first half.

Solskjaer also admitted that United weren’t at their best for the final 20 minutes of the game as his side couldn’t force a comeback.

“I think they started with a couple of set-plays and when we weathered that storm I thought we played some very good football. We should’ve scored a few,” Solskjaer said after the game.

“But when they scored we lost our heads a little bit. After half time I thought it was good again until we scored, then for another five minutes we played some decent football and then the last 15, 20 [minutes] we lost our momentum, lost our shape, got sloppy.

“Maybe it’s fitness issues, maybe it’s other things.”
