Donny van de endured a frustrating debut season with Manchester United in the Premier League, as the Netherlands international struggled for playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ahead of his second season in England, Van de Beek went on a training programme to bulk up his body for the challenge of the Premier League. Many believed that it will be a bit different for the Netherlands international this season, but it’s even looking worse as he’s yet to get a minute of action so far this season.
Van de Beek missed the European Championships after sustaining an injury at Holland’s training camp before the tournament and he returned to the United camp early to start pre-season training. Despite his zeal, he hasn’t been fancied by Solskjaer.
Van de Beek’s position for his national team is now under threat, as former United boss Louis van Gaal has been appointed as Netherlands Head Coach.
Missing the Netherlands squad for the upcoming international games will further hurt Van de Beek, and he’s now considering his future at the club.
Surprisingly, reports have it that Van de Beek’s representatives failed to inform him that lots of clubs were interested in him during the summer, as they believed he’d break into the United team this season.
Van de Beek is now caught up between getting a late exit before the close of the transfer window or enduring what may be another frustrating season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
