Manchester United are back in the Champions League for the 2021-22 season, having crashed out of last season’s competition to play in the Europa League.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad looks stronger this season, but there is a very high possibility of drawimg a top side in the group stage.
After the pots were confirmed on Wednesday, Manchester United who were drawn in Pot 2 will now face one of the seeded teams in Pot 1.
Of the eight seeded teams, United can only be drawn against six in the group stage, as sides from the same league can’t meet in group stage.
Manchester United will be hoping to avoid German giants Bayern Munich, as they are the biggest threat in Pot 1, knowing that United can’t be drawn against Chelsea and Manchester City.
In fact, Pot 2 even seems to be a tougher pot than Pot 1, with many of the Champions League heavyweights in Pot 2.
See the full pots below
Pot 1: Villarreal, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Lille, Sporting Lisbon, Chelsea, Manchester City

Pot 4: Club Brugge, Young Boys, AC Milan, Malmo, Wolfsburg, Besiktas, Dynamo Kyiv, Befica
The draws will be done this evening as teams get to know their fate ahead of the Champions League which kicks off on September 14.
