According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato via Daily Mail, Juventus turned down the chance to sign Manchester United attacker Edinson Cavani after Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United.
The report claims Cavani was offered to the Serie A giants, despite only signing a new one-year deal at Old Trafford back in May.
Ronaldo left Juventus for Manchester United during the summer which left the Italian side needing to sign a forward before they eventually re-signed Moise Kean from Everton.
It is claimed though that Juventus ‘never took Cavani into consideration’ due to the Uruguayan striker’s high wages.
The striker is on a £250,000-a-week deal in Manchester and the Serie A side are in a difficult economic situation at present.
Cavani has lost his no.7 shirt to Cristiano Ronaldo and he is expected to drop down the pecking order at Manchester United following the arrival of Ronaldo.
