Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told to start 19 year old Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game against West Ham.
The Swedish winger was a revelation when he made his senior debut at the back end of last season.
Elanga scored in his start at Old Trafford – the 2-1 victory over Wolves – and continued his goalscoring feats in pre-season, finding the back of the net against Queens Park Rangers and then again with a tremendous volley against Brentford in a 2-2 draw.
Elanga picked up an injury during preseason but is now fit.
When asked on Manchester United ’s official podcast The Debate if there was any player he looked forward to seeing, former Manchester United midfielder Ben Thornley.
He said: “Maybe some of the young lads, Anthony Elanga’s fit.
“He scored in the Under 23s, maybe he might come back into the squad and start again because he had a really really strong pre-season and, you know, got an injury at the wrong time really for him.
“So I think I quite liked to see him.”
