Solskjaer reveals his Manchester United man-of-the-match against Tottenham. It’s not Ronaldo or Cavani
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named midfielder Scott McTominay as his man of the match in our 3-0 win over Tottenham on Saturday evening.
The team returned back to winning ways thanks to goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford.
Despite the fact talismanic forward Ronaldo was given the man of the match award following his superb goal and excellent play in the build-up to Cavani’s goal in the second half, the Norwegian has named McTominay as the Red Devils’ standout performer.
When asked about McTominay’s performance after the game, Solskjaer replied: “Man of the match for me, by a mile.
“That’s the Scott we’ve seen a few times before. He’s had his injury, he’s had his operation this season, but today I thought he was absolutely brilliant.
“Won his tackles, drove forward, kept the ball simple, switched play, headed away a few set-plays, so absolutely top.”
I totally agree, McTominay was great, full of energy, kept the ball, pushed forward and dominated the midfield. If only he can be partnered with Rice or Reuben Neves we will be unbeatable.
