Cristiano Ronaldo got the 796th goal of his career against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, as he returned to the score sheet.
The Portuguese had gone four games without scoring for Manchester United, even though he seemed to have broken that drought with his fine strike against Liverpool last weekend, before referee Anthony Taylor disallowed it for offside.
However, the forward’s strike against Spurs was an even better one— a low volley, courtesy of a fine pass from Bruno Fernándes.
The goal was so good that teammate, Paul Pogba, who missed the game due to suspension, couldn’t help but appreciate it. He took to his instagram to share a photo of himself in disbelief, and a caption that read, “@Cristiano finish wow”.
Pogba wasn’t the only one impressed by the effort, as the likes of Rio Ferdinand and Gary Lineker also had positive reviews about it.
Ronaldo is known to score beautiful goals, and he could have gotten two yesterday, if the second wasn’t ruled offside. Meanwhile, he now has 7 goals for us since he came back from Juventus.
