Solskjaer told he has some breathing space
Football pundit and commentator, Gary Neville, has again, hailed Manchester United’s win over Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
United showed a lot of hunger and zeal to redeem themselves, following a humiliating 5-0 loss to Liverpool a week before.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Marcus Rashford were all on target to hand us the 3-0 victory, but beyond the scoreline, Neville believes it was a thorough defensive showing too.
He said after the match, “It’s a massive week for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he’s started if off just how he would have wanted. The pressure was intolerable building up to this game.
“But they’ve produced a good performance, even though people will talk about how poor Spurs were. Most importantly, they’ve looked like a team out of possession. He’s got them compact and tight and there’s been an intensity.
“They’ve counter-attacked off that and produced the moments we know they can produce. It gives Manchester United and Solskjaer a little bit of breathing space before the Champions League game.”
United have two more crunch ties this week, including the trip to Italy to face Atalanta, and a Premier League match against Manchester City at the weekend.
