Former Netherlands midfielder, Nigel de Jong, was left unimpressed by Harry Maguire’s performance on Wednesday night, following the 2-2 draw against Atalanta.

United had another mixed evening, after falling behind to the Italian side twice during the game.

Josip Ilicic handed the hosts the lead early in the second half, but a Cristiano Ronaldo equaliser restored hope to Untied fans.

However, things seemed to go bad for us again, as Duvan Zapata beat the offside trap to net a second goal for Atalanta, after a poor challenge from Maguire.

Reacting to the United captain’s performance, de Jong said on Twitter, “Maguire again. Smh. Getting exposed every week now. Instead of stepping forward his tendency is always to step back.”

Ronaldo did go on to score again, and make it 2-2, but these defensive problems really do need to be taken care of sooner than later.
