Rio Ferdinand has taken a swipe at Manchester United, after seeing Liverpool beat Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night.
The Reds pulled off an impressive 2-0 win against 10-man Atletico to book a place in the round of 16, with two games to spare, but before then, United battled from a goal behind twice, to earn a draw against Atalanta on Tuesday.
Speaking after the Liverpool game, Ferdinand drew a comparison with his former side, noting that we could learn something from the way they went about their game.
He told BT Sport, “I think if you look at the contrast, look at the game yesterday.
“I don’t want to bring Man United up and take the shine off this game but it really just highlights the contrast of the game.
“Yeah, they went down to 10-men but even before that it was a team in complete control.
“They are in control of every situation going on.
“Yes, they are on a great streak in terms of going on an unbeaten run but it’s based on controlling games and really turning the intensity up, using the crowd etc and just having that complete control.
“Whereas yesterday was very much… disarray and trying to get to a point of controlling and never getting there.”
