Neville names five clubs he’d have played for if he left Man Utd. No Real Madrid or Barcelona
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has named the five clubs he would have played for if he had left Manchester United during his playing days.
While he’ll have no regrets being a one-club man having notched up 400 league appearances and won eight Premier League titles with Manchester United, Neville has revealed the clubs he’d have liked to have played for had he left Old Trafford.
“If you’d said to me, in a perfect world, in my years of playing, which clubs in the Premier League have the tradition, a proper club?” Neville said in an episode of Sky Sports’ Off Script via Metro.
“Arsenal would be No 1. The tradition of Highbury, I felt they did things the right way.
“Also in the Premier League, I like Aston Villa and Newcastle.
“In Europe I admired Juventus and Bayern Munich. I respected them as football clubs.
“Bayern were meticulous in their preparation, so internationally, it would be them.”
