Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been accused of asking Cristiano Ronaldo for advice after Raphael Varane came off injured in the 2-2 draw against Atalanta on Tuesday.

Footage from the game against Atalanta showed Solskjaer in discussions with his assistant Michael Carrick and Ronaldo following the injury to Varane and former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan believes Solskjaer asked Ronaldo for advice.

“I’m pretty sure when Varane came off I saw him asking Ronaldo what they should be doing next,” Jordan told talkSPORT.

“I’m not the only one that’s seen it. I think I saw – and so does someone else I know who’s a footballer – thinks they saw, when Varane came off, Ronaldo being consulted by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about what they should do next, should they go to a four.”

Jordan definitely got this wrong about Solskjaer and the agenda against our manager isn’t right.

Footage from the game showed Solskjaer speaking to Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire, possibly telling them he’s switching to a back four after starting with a back three before turning to Carrick and asking him what he thinks, not Ronaldo.
