“Solskjaer needs to know what he wants from his team” – Ian Wright questions Solskjaer’s decision to sign £73million player
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has questioned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s decision to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73million if the winger wasn’t going to play regularly.
Sancho, 21, became the second most expensive English player in history when he left Borussia Dortmund over the summer to join United on a five-year deal.
Sancho has started just 3 Premier League games for Manchester United since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
“They’ve chased down Jadon Sancho for a couple of years. You get Jadon Sancho and he’s not playing,” Wright said on The Kelly and Wrighty Show.
“You’re playing with wing-backs so why are you buying wingers like Sancho. What are you doing buying Sancho?
“He [Solskjaer] should know what he wants from this team. Manchester United knew they needed more from their right-hand side. They buy Sancho but he can’t make the team.”
