Eric Bailly becomes first Man Utd player to do this against Man City
Eric Bailly set an unwanted record in Manchester United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Bailly is the the first Manchester United player to score an own goal in the Manchester derby in the Premier League era.
The only other own goals in this fixture in the Premier League were in Manchester United’s favour in February 2005 with Richard Dunne’s own goal and in April 2013 when Vincent Kompany put the ball into his own net.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are now without a clean sheet in our last 14 home games in all competitions – we’ve only had one longer run in our entire history without a home clean sheet, a 21-game run between April 1958 and March 1959.
