Why Cavani won’t face Man City and why Rashford is on the bench
Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani isn’t part of the team that would face Manchester City at Old Trafford later today.
The Uruguayan striker has appeared in each of United’s last four games, but suffered an issue during the week which means he has been ruled out of the clash with Pep Guardiola’s side at Old Trafford.
Rashford, who has scored three goals in three games since his injury comeback, is on the bench for the game against Manchester City as he was only passed fit to play this morning.
“We’ve had a couple of issues since Italy, Edi has been one of them,” Solskjaer told MUTV.
“Marcus was only clear this morning, he’s had a problem as well, but, luckily, he can be on the bench and, hopefully, come on if he needs to.”
United have been boosted by the news that Victor Lindelof is fit to play.
“He’s [Victor is] back. I always felt he was going to make it but you’re never sure,” added the Norwegian.
“[I’m] very pleased to have him back.”
