Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has claimed it’s really heartbreaking at times to watch Manchester United.
“You’re never going to get a perfect 11, but people have to raise their game to win Premier League,” Yorke said on talkSPORT.
“We’ve got the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, World Cup winners in Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane, so it’s just crazy that we are where we are.
“It’s really heartbreaking at times to watch, it’s hard to take.
“The situation is not really great, I have to be honest about that. Ole and the players must know that, the fans know that, anyone that knows anything about football knows that.
“Where do we go from here? Do you trust the manager still to take us forward? The board have some tough decisions to make, but until then we, as ex-players and ambassadors, have got to support Ole all the way.”
Yorke is adamant that United’s squad is good enough to compete for major honours, adding: “I think we have a squad of players capable of winning the Premier League. Are they playing like champions? No.
“I think you have to go back to three or four seasons to Leicester when they won the Premier League. You look at the players they had and we have a squad that is very much capable of winning the Premier League.
“When you have the likes of Sancho and Marcus Rashford not being able to get into the team, and you talk about us not being strong enough? I don’t buy that.
“We have a fantastic squad, we strengthened in defence, we have a fantastic goalkeeper, we’ve got attacking fullbacks.
“People talks about the midfield, but you can’t have a perfect team.”
