According to Daily Mail, Manchester United players and staff were surprised to be given a week off after Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

With a large portion of United’s squad on international duty, Solskjaer decided to give the rest of the players and his backroom team a break rather than having them in for training at Carrington.

Solskjaer is under pressure following a poor run that has seen Manchester United lost four of our last six Premier League games which includes the humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Solskjaer left Manchester with his family for Norway on Monday afternoon after giving the players a week off.

The move to give the players and staff a week off comes as a surprise considering Manchester United’s poor form in recent weeks.

Solskjaer was pictured at Manchester airport with his wife Silje and their sons Noah and Elijah before travelling by private jet to his hometown of Kristiansund.
