Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has disclosed his favourite football player of all time, and its none other than the legendary Zinedine Zidane.

Zidane is regarded by many as one of the greatest to ever play the game, and as a coach, he achieved so much during his time as Real Madrid manager.

When asked about his favourite footballer of all time, Matic said, “My favourite player when I was a kid was Zinedine Zidane.

“When I was a kid, I used to play in a similar position to him so he was my idol. I think, in my opinion, he is one of the best players in football history.

“My father was a football player and, yeah, I used to watch him when he played. For me, I wanted to be like my father, obviously.

“He still thinks he was better than me but that’s a different story!”

Zidane was recently linked with the coaching job at Manchester United, but recent reports have named Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers, as the favourite, as the Red Devils try to salvage their so far underwhelming season.
