Poor Manchester United player ‘treated like a competition winner’ at Old Trafford — report
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has been through a lot at Manchester United, and the 24-year-old isn’t having the best of dreams at the Theatre of Dreams.
Van de Beek is being treated like a ‘competition winner’ at Old Trafford. This is the belief among some players at the club, according to a report by the Daily Star.
Despite joining United since September 2020, Van de Beek has started just a total of four games in the Premier League, and is yet to start a league game this season.
His last games were brief cameos in the games against Atalanta and Manchester City, and the general feeling from some players at Old Trafford is that the Dutchman is being treated like ‘a competition winner who landed the prize of a few minutes in the famous red shirt,’ the Daily Star adds.
Van de Beek considered leaving United during the summer, but opted to stay after receiving assurances that his situation would improve, but with game time still in short supply, more speculations around his future are coming up again.
As the January transfer window draws closer, the midfielder has been linked with some European sides, and it is hard to think he’d want to stay at Old Trafford.
