Man Utd coach tipped to replace Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager
Manchester United first-team coach Michael Carrick has been tipped to replace Steven Gerrard as Rangers manager by Charlie Adam.
Gerrard left Rangers last week to become the new Aston Villa boss and Rangers are now on the hunt for a successor.
Former Rangers midfielder Adam believes Carrick will be the perfect replacement for Gerrard if Rangers decide to go for a similar mould of manager.
“I’ll throw a name in the hat: Michael Carrick,” Adam told the BBC’s Sportsound podcast.
“He has been at Manchester United, a big club, good coach. It was a gamble with Steven.
“Will they go down that same route? Will they go for an experienced name? There will only be three or four people that know.”
