Harry Maguire makes history after goal against San Marino

Harry Maguire has made history, after becoming England’s highest scoring centre back, following his goal against San Marino on Monday evening.

The towering centre back opened the scoring for the Three Lions, before an own goal from the hosts, and goals from Harry Kane, Emile Smith Rowe, Tyrone Mings, Tammy Abraham and Busayo Saka, ensured England’s qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The goal puts Maguire ahead of former Chelsea man John Terry, and former Newcastle defender Jack Charlton, on the list of highest scoring centre back for England.

The best part of the news is that Maguire is not up to 30, and has plenty of time to score more goals and extend his lead at the top.

The United defender has now scored in his last two games for England. Not bad for someone who has been harshly criticised by some fans and pundits this season.
