Manchester United star rejects Solskjaer’s offer and is set to leave the club
Jesse Lingard was in top form while on loan to West Ham last, but United may end up losing the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.
Lingard has shown that he can be an important player for Manchester United this season and has already scored two league goals despite having not started a league game this season.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had assured Lingard he would be a key part of the team this season, but he has only started one game – the League Cup third-round defeat by West Ham in September.
Lingard now feels let down following Solskjaer’s failed promise and is keen on leaving the club in January or as a free agent at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Jesse Lingard’s contract talks with Manchester United are on hold after discussions over a new deal have so far failed to find a resolution.
According to Sky Sports News, both parties “remain willing to work through it” amid the impasse in discussions.
For Lingard, he’s said to be keen on an exit so he can make the England squad for the 2022 World Cup.
