West Ham manager, David Moyes, has reacted to rumours that Jesse Lingard could be on his way back to Manchester United, following a successful loan outing with the Red Devils last season.
Lingard has been frozen out of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United side, despite previously assuring the midfielder of an improved game time this season.
The 28 year old is said to now be seeking a move away from Old Trafford, with West Ham seemingly his preferred destination, following his recent Instagram post, which saw him in a West Ham jersey.
But when asked about the development, and a possible move for the Englishman in January, Moyes told the media, during his pre-match press release, “He’s a Manchester United player and I’m not going to talk about players at other clubs,’ the Irons manager told reporters.
“All I can say is we really enjoyed having Jesse, he made a great contribution to the team and he’s helped the team.
“The team’s moved on, we’ve kicked on again so, look, Jesse is a Manchester United player and it’s up to them to decide what he does.”
Meanwhile, Solskjaer has insisted he still has plans for Lingard at Old Trafford, so we’ll have to wait to see how the saga plays out in January.
