Solskjaer told Manchester United players are no longer playing for him

Former Tottenham footballer, Jermaine Jenas has said that Manchester United players are no longer playing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 38 year old made this known during United’s 4-1 defeat to Watford on Saturday— our second in as many games.

Many would have expected nothing short of a proper response from Solskjaer and his boys, after the poor run of results the team had prior to the International break. But it was the same old, as United went down to a well-taken goal by our former academy player, Joshua King, in the 28th minute.

Ismaila Saar missed a chance to put his side 1-0 up a lot earlier in the game, but he got a second chance later, and made it count, as he added another for Watford just before halftime.

Speaking after the second goal went it, Jonas, who was an analyst on BT Sport, said, “They’re not playing for him. The bottom line of it is that.

“I’ve played in games where all of a sudden you look around and you say, ‘This just don’t feel right’. And you know the manager is under pressure. They’re not playing for him.”

He continued: “There’s been a lot of sensitivity around Ole and his job, and sometimes it’s just about performances.

“He changes the formation every two minutes, one good performance, then a bad performance, two good, three bad – that’s not what United are about.

“And this is just a team that’s not playing for the manager right now is all I’m seeing.”

He added, “They don’t believe in what he’s asking them to do so they’re just half-hearting everything. If Watford are working harder than Manchester United, that is a problem in itself because that doesn’t happen at Liverpool, it doesn’t happen at Manchester City, it doesn’t happen at the top clubs.

“So those players are not responding to whatever they’re doing in training, whatever tactics are being asked of them on a weekly basis.”

One should have gone long ago if Manchester United wants to be among top four teams. All the best
