Chelsea legend John Terry has claimed former United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be ‘half-relieved’ to have been sacked by Manchester United.

Terry is certain the Norwegian anticipated his sack, but would now be half-relieved to be away from the pressures of being Manchester United manager.

“When you are Man United like Ole was it is difficult to take,” Terry told Sky Sports News. “It will hurt him for sure.

“But it is a results business, we all know that going into it. It is really sad it has happened but unfortunately its part and parcel of the job.

“It is difficult. Ole is Man United through and through but when you don’t get those results it is difficult.

“Yesterday when you see him walking off, apologising to the supporters, it is not a good place to be.

“In a way, he will be half-relieved too to be away from it.”
