Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as Manchester United boss on Sunday morning after five defeats in seven Premier League games.

Manchester United fans have now reacted to the news of Solskjaer’s dismissal:

@ManUnitedMedia tweeted: “I’m not going to celebrate his sacking like most but I’d be lying if I told myself I’m not happy with the decision, more so relief. Whatever you feel towards the man just know he tried and did at times put the club first. His status at this club will remain, Thank you legend.”

@FlexUTD tweeted: “Only a matter of time. Sad it had to get this bad. The squad is in better shape and that is a plus moving forward.”

@UTDTrey tweeted: “Can’t even begin to imagine how long I waited for this, all the same thanks and all the best Ole. Forever a United legend.”

@AndyMitten tweeted: “Best wishes to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Gave it a good shot and looked to be on the right lines, but the last two months have been horrendous under him. Sad that it came to this. Paris was incredible.”

marmotto-126 wrote on Reddit: “Gotta feel for him on a human level, wish him the best.”

PoliticalShrapnel wrote on Reddit: “I feel for the guy but unfortunately it is a necessary harm. His emotions do not outweigh the emotions of Utd fans nor the emotions of the players themselves who would be denied any trophies if Ole stayed.”

harshmangat wrote on Reddit: “Will always be a legend! A few weeks too late but glad it’s done, season still salvageable but would’ve preferred Conte as he was available just a fortnight ago.”

allthisjusttocomment wrote on Reddit: “Farewell Ole. I’m sorry it didn’t work out but I will always love you and we will always have Paris”
