Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to be sacked by the club following Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Watford.

According to The Times, the Glazer family want former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane to become the next Manchester United boss.

Despite Zidane’s success as Real Madrid boss, several Manchester United fans believe the France legend isn’t the answer and have called for Ajax boss Erik ten Hag to be appointed instead.

@HowlinWhite tweeted: “Zidane isn’t the answer. Neither is Rodgers.”

@BoredFilmGuy tweeted: “Love Zidane, probably my best player of all time but something doesn’t sit right with him becoming United’s manager. Hope I’m wrong.”

Another fan tweeted: “Manchester United should go for Ten Hag if they decide to sack Solskjaer. When Zidane came, Real Madrid was an well oiled machine. When things started going downhill, he left. Person who comes in has to pull us out of the gutter and I don’t think he’ll do that. Maybe for 18 months.”
