‘I’m happy’ — Pochettino reacts to Manchester United links
Mauricio Pochettino has reacted to rumours linking him with the vacant managerial position at Manchester United.
The Paris Saint-Germain coach is currently in the country, as his side prepare to face Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League later on Wednesday.
Pochettino is the rumoured favourite to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was fired in the wake of United’s 4-1 defeat to Watford, but when asked about the reports, the Argentine replied, saying, “I’m happy in Paris.
“I know the city well both as a player and a coach, I have always lived this type of situation.
“Things happen and it’s not my responsibility. What I’m going to say if you ask me is that I’m happy in Paris.”
He further added, “I am focused. I am very focused in football,’ said Pochettino.
“I am not a kid, I am not a child. I spend my whole life playing football and now for more than 12 years being a coach. We are in a business where the rumours are there.
“I completely understand what is going on, sometimes in a positive way, sometimes in a negative way and this type of thing cannot distract. Rumours are there and we need to live with that.
“That is the football that we are living. We are so focused. We are giving 100% to get our best from the club and the players to perform in the best way. I am so happy at Paris Saint-Germain.”
