Jadon Sancho was Manchester United’s most outstanding player during the 2-0 win against Villareal in the UEFA Champions League game on Tuesday.
Sancho was on target in the game — scoring what was his first goal for the Red Devils since his £73 million switch from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.
Ronaldo opened the scoring in the game, with a fine lob over the Villarreal goalie, before Sancho smashed in a strong effort to the roof of the net, to make it 2-0.
Speaking after the game, Scholes was very delighted with the winger’s performance, and urged that United tweak ther formation to suit his abilities.
He told BT Sport, “He looked fitter than he has done and I was really pleased for him today, young player, had a difficult start but I thought he was United’s best player tonight.
“I think they need to use him more,’ said Scholes. ‘Playing in this team is a little bit different, because he doesn’t have a flying full-back like he had at Dortmund and he’s not an absolute flying machine himself.
“He wants to play into a centre-forward, play somebody in, he’s such a clever footballer, I’m really pleased for him, getting his goal and he looks fitter, he looks half a stone slimmer.”
