Cavani gives injury update ahead of Chelsea clash
Edinson Cavani has given some insight on the state of his injury, as Manchester United prepare to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
Cavani hasn’t played for United since early November, after the 2-2 draw against Atalanta.
It is also unclear when the striker will make a return to action, but he says he’s working and doing everything he can to ensure he can return quickly.
Speaking to Man United’s officials website, the Uruguayan said, “During this period of the international break, I’ve had the chance to stop and focus on this niggling injury that I’m feeling in the tendon in my leg.
“So I can speed up my recovery and come back quickly and be available for my club and national team.
“So, during this time, I was able to spend a few days in Uruguay, do some fitness and recovery work and stuff and, in turn, I managed to see my family at the same time, which is always important, to see your family and be close to them.”
Manchester United will also be without Paul Pogba, who developed a thigh injury during shooting practice while on international duty with France.
