Wan-Bissaka slammed for conceding penalty against Chelsea
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been slammed for conceding a cheap penalty during the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Red Devils had taken the lead through Jadon Sancho, after the winger took advantage of a rare error by Jorginho to slot past a helpless Edouard Mendy, but it wasn’t too long before the hosts restored parity through a penalty by Jorginho.
The Italy international scored from the spot, no thanks to an error in judgement by Wan-Bissaka, with the Ivorian bringing down Thiago Silva with a kick on the leg from behind.
Speaking about the penalty, Jamie Caragher, who was watching in the Sky Sports studio, slammed Wan-Bissaka for his carelessness.
He said, “I think it is a penalty.
“He kicked right through the back of him. It’s reckless. What is he thinking? Thiago Silva’s back is to goal.”
The game went on to finish 1-1, as Chelsea maintain a 1 point lead at the top, while Manchester United move to eighth.
