Brendan Rodgers rates Manchester United’s new boss, Ralf Rangnick

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has reacted to Manchester United’s appointment of Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager.
The Red Devils announced the appointment of the German on an interim basis on Monday, in a deal that will see him serve as manager until the end of the season, after which he’ll take up a consultancy role with the club for another two years.
This means United will have to look for a new permanent manager at the end of the season, but in the meantime, Rodgers, who has been linked with the role in recent weeks, believes Rangnick is a strong choice.
Speaking to the media recently, the Leicester City boss said, “I think they have appointed a very experienced man in football, both in his role as a sporting director and as a coach.
“I don’t know Ralf personally. I came across him when I was at Liverpool and we had a phone conversation.
“And then at Celtic, I played against his Red Bull Leipzig team but he’s clearly a very, very experienced guy who is very well thought of in the game.
“And he will come in and offer that experience and that stability to the club and they will assess it from there.”
Rangnick will not be able to lead Manchester United against Arsenal on Thursday, as the Red Devils continue to work on securing his visa.
