Paul Scholes tells new boss the perfect formation for Man United to win against Arsenal
Paul Scholes has suggested that Manchester United need to make a number of changes to the team if they want a positive result against Arsenal on Thursday.
Manchester United are in search of their second Premier League win in 8 games, having won just one in that time frame.
The much-needed draw against Chelsea last weekend will have given the lads a strong boost, after a tactical masterclass from former interim manager, Michael Carrick.
The coach had opted to play Rashford in place of the benched Cristiano Ronaldo, while also fielding the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay in midfield.
But with a new manager in charge in the person of Ralf Rangnick, and Arsenal in good form, Scholes believes there has to be a number of changes.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, the former United midfielder said, “[I’d] play a centre forward for a start.
“Cristiano will play. The two wide players [Sancho and Rashford] will probably play. Possibly play two midfield players instead of three of them, be more attacking.
“Arsenal are nowhere near the quality of Chelsea, nowhere near Liverpool, Manchester City.”
Arsenal are currently fifth on the league table, five points above Man United, and a win on Thursday will help Manchester United close the gap on those above them.
