Ralf Rangnick told to get rid of two Man United players worth over £120m
Former Manchester United full-back, Paul Parker has told Manchester United new boss, Ralf Rangnick to get rid of two players in the January transfer window.
Rangnick takes over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after the Norwegian’s sacking in the wake of the 4-1 defeat to Watford.
Michael Carrick was appointed temporary interim manager, and Rangnick has now been confirmed as the new interim manager.
The German is also expected to influence key transfer decisions during his six-month reign, and Parker believes getting rid of Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial should be top on his list.
He told ‘Talking Devils’, “Someone like him [Pogba] you don’t want around the club.
“You want him to go in January, take a good offer because you will get nothing six months down the line. Just take it.
“Pogba won’t be good to have around the dressing room if he’s not involved. I’m thinking about a German coach coming in and seeing Pogba. If you look at two of the top managers in the league, could Pogba play for Thomas Tuchel in the manner in which he is playing at this moment in time? Not a chance. Could he play for Liverpool? Not a chance.
“There is no zest, no drive, no passion on a consistent basis. And consistency is key from what we see from individuals at Liverpool and Chelsea. He isn’t showing that, he wouldn’t be involved and I don’t think he fits into the incoming managers’ plans.”
Parker added, “Can you get Martial running around, closing down and doing work without the ball to benefit the team when they get the ball back? I don’t think so,’
“They are the first two, they are key ones [to go]. Both cost a lot of money but you can sit there and wait for your money but they are just going to stagnate.
“Sour apples in the barrel which you don’t need at this moment in time, you need positivity and belief back and that is not going to happen with two people that aren’t going to be nice people to have around if they are not playing regularly.”
