Report: New boss Ralf Rangnick identifies number one target for January transfer window
Manchester United’s new interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, has identified RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara, as his target for the January transfer window.
Rangnick was confirmed new interim manager on Monday, and he takes over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was fired over a week ago.
The German is set to be in charge until the end of the season, when he’ll then proceed to take up a consultancy role with Man United.
Rangnick is known for his demanding style of football, which requires high pressing, and reports say he is already eyeing a move for his former player, Haidara.
Haidara was signed by Rangnick while he was still with the Bundesliga side, and the 23 year old has been a star for them.
According to The Times, Haidara has a £33 million release clause in his contract, and United will back Rangnick to strengthen in January.
Meanwhile, United may also lose a number of players, with Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek, all potential departures.
