What Man Utd must do to help Ralf Rangnick succeed
German football specialist Matt Ford has urged the Manchester United board to back interim manager Ralf Rangnick in order to help him implement his ideas at Old Trafford.
The German’s appointment has been confirmed by the club. He will be in charge until the end of the season before moving into a consultancy role until 2024.
Ford expects the club to trust Rangnick to deliver desired results.
Speaking to the United We Stand fanzine, German football specialist Matt Ford stressed the importance of allowing Ralf Rangnick to do his job properly.
Ford said: “If John Murtough, Darren Fletcher and Manchester United are smart, they will listen to Rangnick.
“They have to place their trust in him and learn from him. This could be the first correct step the club has taken in 16 years.”
Meanwhile Sporting director Murtough and Technical director Darren Fletcher will be working alongside Rangnick for the remainder of the 2021/22 Premier League season.
