Manchester United caretaker boss gives latest Raphael Varane injury update ahead of Arsenal clash
Manchester United caretaker manager Michael Carrick has revealed Raphael Varane is progressing well from his injury, but won’t be fit enough to feature against Arsenal on Thursday night.
The Frenchman hasn’t played since sustaining an hamstring injury in our 2-2 draw against Atalanta in the Champions League at the start of November.
Prior to his injury, the France international has been a rock at the heart of the United defence.
He had initially been ruled out for a month, but caretaker boss Carrick believes the player will be back playing later this month.
“Yeah, Rapha’s rehab is going really well,” Carrick said.
“He’s out on the grass but it won’t be any time this week, by any stretch, it’ll be a little bit further than that, if not even longer.
“He’s on course [though], which is good.”
