Carrick explains why he’s yet to speak to new Man United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick
Michael Carrick has revealed the reason behind him not speaking to Manchester United’s new interim boss, Ralf Rangnick yet.
Rangnick was announced as our new interim manager on Monday, following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
But despite visiting Old Trafford and Carrington on Wednesday, the German will not be able to take over management of the club just yet, as work is done to process his work permit.
There were suggestions that Rangnick was responsible for picking United’s starting eleven against Chelsea, but the caretaker manager insists he’s yet to speak to him.
Carrick said, “Literally, I haven’t really got anything to update you on.
“Apart from the work permit process is ongoing now as we speak and I’m in this position as I was for Villarreal and Chelsea, getting the boys ready for the game tomorrow night.
“Have I spoken to him? No. It’s pretty much as it was when I said there, about both games we’ve already been to, because of the process and the work permit we haven’t been able to. So we’ve carried on as we have done, it’s worked well for the last two games and, hopefully, it works well tomorrow.”
