Bruno Fernandes reveals why he allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to take penalty against Arsenal

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has revealed he was happy to let United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo take the decisive penalty in our win over Arsenal despite being the club’s designated penalty-taker.
The Portugal international went on to explain that there was no agreement between both players on who would take it, but felt it was ideal for his compatriot to take the penalty (which Ronaldo scored) after his penalty miss against Aston Villa this season.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Thursday, Bruno Fernandes explained: “We didn’t have a chat.
“I missed the last one so I trust him [Cristiano Ronaldo] in the same way I trust myself.
“It was time for Cristiano to take the penalty because I took the last one and missed it. It doesn’t matter who gets on the penalty.”
