Ralf Rangnick reveals details of his meetings with Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United’s new interim manager, Ralf Rangnick has revealed details of his previous meetings with Sir Alex Ferguson, while saying he looks forward to meeting the legend again.
Rangnick and Sir Alex have met twice in the past, with the first being when United played with Schalke 04 in the Champions League semi-finals back in 2010/2011.
United won the game with a 6-1 aggregate score, after scoring twice in Germany, and four times at Old Trafford, where Rangnick’s side netted once.
After the game, Ferguson invited Rangnick back to his office for a drink, and the German recalled the experience during a chat with MUTV.
He said, “We spoke after the second leg here. He invited me into his office at Old Trafford in the stadium.
“He enjoyed the glass of wine more than I did because we had no chance whatsoever in that game.
“We were missing four or five important first 11 players at the time.
“The mere fact that we qualified for the semi-finals with this team against Inter ā we beat Inter 5-2 away and 2-1 at home ā nobody had expected that at the time. That was the first meeting, the first time I met Sir Alex.
“We met again in 2015 at an event of the Kicker sports magazine. We had dinner together and Iām very much looking forward to meeting him in the next couple of weeks.”
