Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has revealed slight knocks suffered in training that resulted to pain was the reason behind the absence of attacking duo Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard in our victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
On Martial and Lingard’s absence, Rangnick said: “Jesse and Anthony indicated after training [yesterday] that they didn’t feel well, they felt pain. That’s the reason they are not in the squad.”
Manchester United secured all three points and consecutive wins, thanks to midfielder Fred’s winning goal.
Martial and Lingard featured sporadically under former boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and it’ll be interesting to see how much or little they feature under the new German coach.
