Edwin van der Sar has hinted he could returned to Old Trafford to take up a role with Manchester United in the future.

The Dutchman made this known recently, when responding to a question from the media.

He was asked if he would be tempted by an offer from Man United if one did come, and he replied, “I am enjoying myself so much at Ajax.

“I still have two years left here. I want to keep achieving things here with the club.

“But I am sure that one day the moment will arrive.”

Van der Sar has been linked with a possible return to Old Trafford, as replacement for Ed Woodward, who is set to step aside as Man United’s executive vice chairman soon, but with his contract at the Johan Cryuff stadium remaining two years, fans may have to wait longer to see that happen.

Meanwhile, Ajax boss, Eric ten Hag remains a contender for Man United’s permanent managerial office, even though he wants to see out the season with his current side.
