Atletico Madrid are reportedly set to offer Manchester United a swap deal for Anthony Martial.
The Frenchman is keen to leave Old Trafford, as he wants to play more regular football, according to his agent, Philippe Lamboley.
Martial has only featured 10 times for United this season, scoring just one goal in that period, and could now be on his way to Atletico, with Eurosport reporting that the Spanish side want him.
Atletico want to offer Man United an unnamed player in exchange for Martial, with the report adding that the player will fit into our transfer plans.
Kieran Trippier has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past, and could still come in handy, considering Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s struggles this season.
However, Martial still has two years left on his contract, and it’s hard to tell if Man United will be willing to sanction a swap or an outright sale.
Already, Ralf Rangnick has downplayed the reports that Martial could leave in January, telling the media recently, “I don’t communicate with agents via the media and press. The player hasn’t spoken with me or us about it.
“After the final training session before the Crystal Palace game, after having trained with team, he informed the doctor and the medical department that he would not be available because the pain in his knee is too big. We have to wait and see.
“Maybe he can train again [on Sunday] but I have to speak to the doctor first. To be honest, what his agent says via the media is not of that much interest to me.”
