De Gea issues rallying cry to teammates, ahead of Burnley clash
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has called on his Manchester United teammates to do better, after the disappointing 1-1 draw away to Newcastle on Monday.
United were fortunate to escape St James’ Park with a point, and probably owe it to De Gea, who had to pull off a string of excellent stops to deny the hosts.
The result leaves Man United at seventh on the league table — seven points behind Arsenal, although we have two games in hand.
United face Burnley at Old Trafford next, and ahead of the important clash, De Gea has asked his teammates to improve, and start making games count.
Taking to his instagram after the 1-1 draw on Monday, the Spain International said, “We have to start making these games count.
“We go again on Thursday.”
Man United can go level on points with fifth-placed West Ham if we win on Thursday.
