Ralf Rangnick must turn his Manchester United team into mentality monsters
According to statistics, Manchester United recovered the most points (35 points) from losing position in the Premier League during the start of the 2020-21 season.
In the list of teams with the most points recovered from a losing position, we are above teams like Liverpool(20 points), Leicester City (20 points), West Ham United (19 points), and Wolverhampton Wanderers (16 points).
Our points recovery prowess has been known since Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign at the club and then continued by former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Despite leading 2-0 until the 70 minute against Aston Villa on Saturday night, the United team failed to show the mental fortitude to see out the game. 14 minutes of erratic and lacklustre display was the difference between three points and the one point we collected.
After watching our capitulation against the Villians, for sure Red Devils interim boss Ralf Rangnick has huge work on his hands if he is to win silverware or lead the club to Champions League qualification this season.
The German needs to make the team relentlessly lethal and fluid in attacking play, compact in the middle of the park, lethal in attack and unified in purpose and objective. In simple terms, he needs to make Manchester United the team you don’t want to play against.
To do this, Rangnick must take a cue from compatriot Jurgen Klopp’s managerial handbook to know how to build Manchester United into mentality monsters.
